This is the time of year where mugging for my studies to going to start again. Wishing myself Happy Mugging! Study hard!

Japanese Film Festival 2010: Fish Story

Pang yi and me went to watch the Japanese film: Fish Story. It was really an interesting movie! The main genesis of the movie is that everything is connected. With that, music or a song is able to save the world.

The movie started with the world is going to end in 5 hours, as a comet is shooting towards Earth.

During the early 1970s , there was this band struggling to survive through make their own music which was punk rock. With luck, they met a producer that was happy to invest in them. After 2 long years, they are all give their final chance at making an album that will sell. With their one and only take to record this particular song: Fish Story...They did it.

This song Fish Story really did save the world. How? Must watch the movie!

At then end of the movie I had a sense of WAH and WOW. Every little thing really does count.

Long awaited Island Creamery

Saturday:1st May
Why is it long awaited? Because this is the 2nd time we have been to Serene Centre. The 1st time we (my family and I) were there, the car park was full so didnt get a chance to eat the ice cream.

Anyway, finally tasted the ice cream! So much better than Udders! 1 pint of ice cream of ice cream cost only $9, its a steal.

A day in SP

A typical day in SP, studying in SP's main library. Still my best place to study: SP's main library! Only there were disturbing guys whispering on and off in the QUIET ZONE.

I visited my favourite stall in SP, Foodcourt 1's Yong Tua Fu!! It is the bestest Yong Tua Fu ever and it is still ever tasty and perfect. I can eat it everyday and not feel sick of it. Still as cheap as ever, I had at least 8 food items and bee hoon and only cost $2.60.

Hooray!!! To the stallholders: Uncle and Auntie!!

17th April 2010 MaydaY DNA Concert

The most exciting part was the fireworks. And of course there was the transformers that came out to say HELLO. Very cool! There was a synonymy band playing together with mayday towards the end.

The concert ended really early, it ended before 1130pm. The most scary part for me was the portable seats that I have to sit on. There were times where I stood to enjoy the music but felt the whole platform shaking. And there were times I felt dizzy.

I really have to think twice whether to go for their next concert!

Australia Trip 09 Part 2

Night 7: 5th August 09
Reached Brisbane airport very late into the night.

Day 8: 6th August 09
Breakfast/Lunch: Hong Kong Cafe at Gold Coast, portions were big and the porridge was really delicious. The hot milk tea was a enjoyment.
Movie World home of Warner Bros. Lots of exciting rides and performance by BATMAN and Bussy Bunny: What's up Doc?
Dinner: Taiwanese Dishes (Zi Chia) Some of the dishes were unique while others were familiar. Delighted to taste great food.

Day 9: 7th August 09
Breakfast at Club 21. A high class western breakfast with free flow of toast. Me and Pangyi each order a set... I managed to finish mine.
GOLD COAST
Lunch at this small Japanese restaurant. We order salmon bowl, sashimi set, sushi rolls and the salmon roe Goodness! Really fresh and you can feel the sea breeze as you bite into the sashimi and roe. Best Japanese food I ever tasted!!
Right after lunch, I had the best bubble tea I ever tasted. The pearls are sooo QQQQ, you start jumping. Tea was thick and fragrant!
Shopping time at Harbor Town! Cheap and branded stuffs, all able to find there. Shopping heaven!

Day 10: 8th August
Ekka Festive.
The authentic fun fair experience!!! Strawberry ice cream, homemade goodies for sales. Farm animals in the barn: goats, sheep, cows. Exciting fun fair rides and games all over. In the evening time everyone gathered to watch horse riding competition. And fabulous acts from racing cars and bikes, speeding, stunts and fire. The fire made us feel just abit warmer. That night was cold and windy. Last but not least: The fireworks show!! Lasted for quite a while.

Day 11 & 12: 9th and 10th August 09
Tangalooma Island Resort
Whales-watching, dolphins-feeding and Quad bike riding were some of the things we did at the island!! We spent one night at Palm Lodge. It was a experience to spend winter at a beach. Very fun and thrilling!
Dinner on the 10th was feast and it was a blast. We went for chinese food at a Hong Kong Restaurant and the Roasted Chicken was golden and crispy. Followed by super soft beancurd dessert that I wished I could ba bao back to Singapore.
Lastly we had supper at this building that used to be a church and guess what we had.??? We had waffles!!!! It was heaven, but we were so FULL! Sadly we did not managed to finish and had leftovers.

Day 13: 11th August
Last minute shopping at the duty free area near the airport together with breakfast before our flight back to SG. Breakfast was Fried Yellow Noodles. It had a very different taste from that of Singapore's. Singapore yellow noodles had this bitter after taste(alkaline taste), but the one I had did not have the weird aftertaste and was even very QQQ.
Aboard the flight to SG and was back at Changi Airport about 8pm.
HOME SWEET HOME!

PS: I sent 2 postcards back to my home and they were safely received.

Day trip to Great Ocean Road

Lime stones formations: Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge, The 12 Apostles
Dinner at Chapel Street: Yu Cha Dim Sum
Bought black tea: Strawberry Cream flavoured black tea

The tour guide/driver of the day trip was really unhappy with us and seems abit racist towards Asians. He was a fat old man that really had a grumpy face. Really make our day not so enjoyable.
The timing to each place was really short, we had to run to cover the whole area at The 12 Apostles and trying to take as much photos as possible. At one point, the 3 of us was running really fast along the track, and lots of people turn around to see what was the commotion. The wind was cold and the view was just speechless. I always felt that landscape views can never be capture into the photos, only your eyes can do the justification.

Day 4: 3rd August 09
Day trip to Phillip Island
Animal Visit: Kangaroos, Emus, Sheep, Scotland Cows, Horses and more
Penguin Parade: the Little Penguin (World's smallest penguin)
Bought: Postcards and magnets

Luckily for this day trip to Phillip Island we did not book it under the same tour group. Believe it or not we saw the same old man at the penguin parade.

This time round our tour guide/driver was a lady, she was friendly and easy-going. We had so much more fun with her. Fellow tourists on the tour was more friendly and we had a good time interacting.
It was interesting feeding the kangaroos, they are really gentle animals, not really what I had in mind. I saw the demonstration of wool shaving from the sheep. We were lucky to able to witness it because the weather that day was not that cold. If the weather is really cold, they will not do the wool shaving.
We reached the Penguin Parade around evening and penguins only return to their nest at night. Males are the ones at home looking after their young/eggs. Females are the ones that will go out to the sea. They can be out in the sea for months at time. The females find their nest by calling out to the males by making penguin's sounds. At around 630pm we were out at the beach waiting for the penguins. COLD! I WAS SHIVERING ALL THE WAY WHEN I WAS SITTING ON THE BEACH. I went prepared, with 3 jackets, gloves and cap. We even used the the hot pack. On the way back to the centre, we got a closer look at the penguins. The way they greet each other when the two of them finally find each other, was an eye opener. I was able to tell the penguins were delighted and delirious.

Day 5: 4th August 09

Supermarket shopping: Jelly, chocolates and more

The market is so different from Singapore's. Has a feel of flea markets. Fresh produce look fresher and greener.

Day 6: 5th August 09

RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology)
Melbourne Central Mall
Bought: clothes and souvenirs

We had lunch at RMIT University, the number of stalls in the cafeteria was limited, not much of a choice. I had a seafood wrap that was full of veggies. Price of the food there was slightly cheaper. I did see some students with their home-packed lunches. Me and Pang Yi even went up to their library and found books on food technology. Bringing back the good old days of polytechnic and I have to say I still prefer Singapore Polytechnic Main Library.

Copenhagen Climate Conference 2009

I have been keeping up with the news of the summit through The Straits Times Newspaper. Though the summit is already over, I just feel that I have to express my views. So disappointed about how the whole conference turned out.

My 2 cents worth: Can't you all see that is already too late to change anything to help the earth. Erratic climate and melting ice caps are already here. Shouldn't everyone just buck up and not waste precious time. Do what you all can do and not fight. Do not wait for The End of the World!

Gifts I received this Christmas 09

I received this Body Shop lip balm from Shu Hua, on the 23rd. My primary school friends and I will always meet up during the Christmas period for dinner and gift exchange. This is a tradition.

This Little Twin Star pouch I received it from Pang Yi. She left it in my letter box on the 23rd, I am touched! This pouch she got it from Japan during her recent vacation there. SOOO cute! I am totally in love!

It started out like this: on Christmas EVE, during our dinner out, all seated and already ordered the food. He took out this two packs of tissue paper and slide toward us, my sister and me. And on this pack of tissue paper was our names and Merry Xmas. Immediately we started saying words like "cheapo" and "bo sim". Before getting the presents for us, he did ask us what we wanted for Christmas. And we did give him a rough idea of what we wanted. We, the three of us went on about the purple pack and pink pack of tissue. Purple pack was 3 ply tissue paper, while the pink packet was 2 ply tissue paper. So in that sense I gotten more than my sister. He even describe how he went shopping in orchard... with crowds of people, he came back empty-handed.

After what seems like a long time, he prompted me, that he wanted a piece of tissue from my pack of tissue paper. Asked me to tear open the pack, took a piece out for him. Then did I realized that there was something inside the pack. On a second look, it was a piece of paper in between the tissues. Goodness when I took it out, then I realized it was a cheque. Definitely surprised, excited and touched. This is the 1st time he has ever given me a Christmas gift! And this person is my brother! This is a tradition that must be KEPT! Really a good one for a 1st Christmas gift. Already looking forward to next year's gift. HaHa.

The mug and card holder, I received from Pei Shan on the gift exchange with my secondary school friends. CUte froggy Mug. The mug I will keep it for special occasion, and the card holder is useful to me. I will be using it!

This Christmas eve, just nice my mum not working so we decided to dine out. We went to this coffee shop at Upper Bukit Timah Road near Choa Chu Kang. We have been there a couple of times already. The coffee shop is famous for its crab dishes, especially the one we ordered: Salt Baked Crab. Really GOOD! Go try!

Later that night, I went to Yu Da's house for Christmas exchange and celebrations with my secondary school friends. This year's activities were steamboat, gift exchange, Game: Twister, hair-dyeing, Movies and Christmas cake. We had lots of fun in the game Twister, very tiring!

Movie: New Moon

After watching the show, I am definitely on Team Jacob!! Like I say the bestest friend someone would ever have.

What I like about the movie?? Jacob of course!! I am surprised that some scenes after his transformation, he was clothed. The 3-person-date at the movies was great too. Mike, Jacob and Bella in the movies watching some grusome show. Jacob was really sweet and understanding to Bella after the movie! And especially like the part where Bella jump off the cliff, very real life and Victoria came after her.

The movie's main focus was on Bella when Edward left her. Towards the end of the movie.... When Bella went to rescue Edward, I thought some of the main scenes were missing. If you read the book you will understand the storyline. If you did not read the book, storyline was abit too fast to really understand. Quite disappointed that the movie did not act out the actual scene of the voting for Bella to be a vampire. They were suppose to sit at the dining table instead of just standing around. With the dining table, it will make everything a more stern and serious discussion.

Last of all, I thought the movie did not potray the bond of Bella and Edward well enough. Finally, I love the action scenes too!!

So do try to catch it, if you are a fan!

Camping:
Not the real camping where you have to cook with your own fire. I did on a few occasions spent my night in a tent outdoor. Does this count?

Visit a farm house:
I have visited a number of farms locally and aboard. Farms I have visited: vegetables, strawberry, tea, chicken, goats, cows and sheep. Worst one was the cow farm, cow dung is really smelly and pungent.

Campfire:
During one of my secondary school camp, we did set up a huge campfire on the field!

Musicals:
I have been a number of musicals. The most famous one was "The Phantom of the Opera" and the most recent one was "The Singapore Dollar".

Concerts:
I have attended a number of Wu Yue Tian concerts. My most unforgettable one was Corinne May's. The environment was really relaxing and she was easy-going and relax. It was like watching Corinne performing in her own home with lots of talking and laughter.

Tea and Coffee:
I enjoy tea more than coffee and I like hot chocolate even more. Recently bought a box of peppermint tea, goes well with honey.

Ice Cream:
Who doesn't like ice cream?? From young to old, everyone loves IT! I am contented with those homemade ice cream from the ice cream motorbike uncles.

Every house needs a MAN!

These few weeks the rain always come during the night. First the wind will start blowing in, sounds of "Hooo Hooo" are heard. This is the signal of rain.

Yesterday night was like none other, and windows are to be closed. My room door was left open and was not secured to the wall. A gush of strong wind slammed the door shut, creating a loud "Boom". My Warner Bros door sign hanging on the door knob was broken and pieces of plastic was sandwiched in between. My door could not be open. My sister and I gave our door pushes but it just will not move. In the end my brother came to help, standing sideways he gave the door a big push using his full strength. Just one push, the door gave way and open!

No it is not PowerPuff Girls that save the day but MY BROTHER that saved the night!

My sister and me baked this chocolate brownie from the book: Biscuits Brownies & Biscotti. I got this recipe book when I was in Australia, published by The Australian Women's Weekly. Australia magazines are so much more interesting then Singapore's. I got a few back including Cleo. The Australian Cleo is definitely more power packed!

五月天DNA "创造" 新加坡演唱会 2009

This very special year Mayday held 2 concerts in Singapore, 1st show was on Friday 28th August and the 2nd show was on Saturday 29th August. We the old fans of 五月天 of course attended the Saturday show.

I met Avis first before we went to meet the rest. We were discussing what time our show will end as Friday's show ended late at 12.15am. I was telling Avis "我们和五月天是老朋友！！五月天不可以太吝啬！！They must be more generous with us!" And you know what?! 五月天阿信 actually echo my words. He said something along this line "We know fans that bought today's show (saturday) actually bought it very early, you guys are the royal fans! 我们大家是老朋友，五月天不会愧待老朋友！" And what he said was true, Saturday's show started 20 minutes earlier than Friday's show and also ended abit later. I am just delirious that Ashin's thoughts are the same as mine.

I really enjoyed the show! However not as much as the few previous ones. Firstly, I was too tired to start with, now a days old liao very difficult for me to "squeeze" more energy out. Secondly, the next day got WORK so it's like that nagging feeling and subconscious that really prevent me from “感受气氛”。 So that's 2 very important reasons that caused the "not as much".

Really surprised that Mayday did some very big and exciting changes to some of their songs. Imagine Ashin singing like fei yu qin!!! So funny I almost laugh out loud! They did real changes to the tunes of their music. I noticed there was Jazz-like and some songs carried a slower beat. Cant say I like them all but just happy to see something different.

I baked carrot cake, bought the premix kind from supermarket. It has a very strong cinnamon taste. Very soft and moist, melts in your mouth. A very light cake despite its strong flavours.

10 years! Primary School Reunion

Had a primary school gathering on 7th March. Mrs C was also there, she was our form teacher for 2 years P5 and P6. She have not change much still looking good and still teaching in Princess E.

There were a total of 12 that turned up for the lunching meeting, some turned up after lunch. There are some that I cant recognize, I think I would have walked past them and not know they were in my class. Everyone changed alot in the 10 years. Faces that were once cute, childish have become handsome and beautiful.

Glad that I turned up for the gathering, hopefully our next gathering more will turn up.

I have finished reading Twilight Series of books. Already totally in love with it! Too late! I like the author's words... She describes so clearly, it's as if I can just imagine the scenes in front of me. She captured every moment and every action.

I admire the character Bella. Been able to know what she wants and to be so sure of it. Edward is a Charming Price, his actions just shows he is very in love. Jacob is the bestest kind of friend you can get.

4th Jan 五月天 outdoor concert

Green Stadium
Met some new friends in mid afternoon(4/1 Sun), all gear up for the concert. Lots of fans started queuing from Saturday night. CRazy! Had fun hanging out with enthusiastic frens who like me, also love mayday!

Concert was great even though the new songs that they sang were quite limited. Free concert leh! What do you expect?? Sound system was bad... lots of echo. Outdoor concert is really really nice, all the freedom to move around and sit on the ground/grasses. At first I was standing at the end of the field just enjoying the sounds(with new frens). Later I moved to the left side of the field with Avis and the view was good. Nearer to mayday!

The game they played was just exciting. Each of them would give different hand signs to different sections of the field and all would have to collaborate and SHOUT. Everyone did great with the shouting. The way they played the game was NEW or maybe its just the outdoor thing that made me think its NEW. Especially like the part when mayday started shouting L.O.V.E without using mikes. And for once I have enough space to do the actions with them. FUN!!

Still considering whether to go for their August concert.... Most likely not...

The Year 2008

I would say 2008 is a good year for me.

First few months of 2008 were awful, still stuck at that stupid workplace. On May, finally tendered resignation and slowly tried to forget the bad experience.

June: spent that month working in an office environment. The work in the accounting department was boring and slow. I almost slept my way through work. In this special month, I celebrated my 21st birthday and it will always be a memorable one.

July: Changed my working environment to honey honey and more honey. Super tired! Have to stand all day and will always meet weird people. A very busy month.

August: Started school life again! Horray! Started the long journey of braces, don’t know when can take them out. It’s a long one, I tell you…

September: Signed up for swimming.

OCT and NOV passed.

Dec: Got my certificate for swimming.

So overall, it is a fulfilling year for me.
As for New Year resolutions… I am still thinking about it.

2008 Christmas Celebrations was a big hit.

TM meeting. Nice decorations with the white theme and candles. Super amount of food: Fried rice, nuggets, chicken wings, pizza, chips with cheese, shepherds' pie, chocolate and log cake. And I am sure I missed some of the food that was there. Speeches given also had a nice touch of Christmas...

Christmas eve dinner and gift exchange at Yuda's house. We met at Jurong Point and went to shop for ingredients at NTUC. Steamboat at Yuda's house. Steamboat was weird with lots of ingredients, more like Yong Tua Hu. Not the normal type I have at home. At home we use white radish stock, beef, hard-boiled quail eggs and lots lots of veggies. We bought christmas ham and champagne, more christmas atmosphere... haha!
Gift exchange was a mess, only a few bought the presents. So in the end only me, hui, shan and jw exchange. I got a hello kitty piggy bank from jw. Too big for me! I have not even fill up my snoopy piggy bank.
Regret: Forget to eat the cheese cake that we bought...
Who was there: me, zhen, shan, mei, hui, L, jw, jr, pw, yj and of course the owner of the house(yd).

Christmas day dinner was turkey, mashed potato, boiled apple & cabbage and stuffings in the turkey. All proudly done by my father. Very Very nice!!! Together with my family and white wine. Prefect and delicious!! Had a bad time washing the dishes too...

Yan Jun's birthday. Had dinner at Cineleisure and Kbox at Chinatown. First time for me to celebrate his birthday.... Know him so long 1st time to celebrate for him... Weird right?? Anyway long time didnt go singing with the guys forget how loud they can get. In the past, usually will be Yan Jun's concert singing more songs in the session. This time round was Jia Wei's concert lor..... No actually the guys sang more than the girls....

Doris's Birthday. Movies and Dinner at Vivocity. We watched the movie: Twilight. The movie is good, the action was exciting. Everyone should watch it! I am now currently reading the book, Good NEWS the book is great!!! After dinner we proceed to gift exchange for Christmas. I got a small make-up kit that is really cute. Thanks SH!!!

doggie's LIFE

Recently, I came to know of a dog. I think the dog leads a very pitiful life.... He lives in a HDB flat but he is enclosed in a small space. He lives in a corner of the kitchen, fenced up. The only time he gets to walk around and loose up is when he goes for his daily walk.

I think it's bad enough for dogs to live in HDB flats where their freedom is already so limited. Worst when they have so little space. Why rear them when you cannot even give them the freedom to roam around the flat??

I love the movie "A Walk to Remember" always get very touched after watching the movie. I have watch the movie numerous of times. The motivation I felt after I watching the movie was great. One is really able to achieve his dreams/goals when he put his mind into it. The actor Shane West and actress Mandy Moore also made a great match in the movie. The music leaves a impression too.

However I just finished reading the the book by Nicholas Sparks not so long ago. I always thought the book will be nicer than the movie. Great disappointment. The book is a more simple version of the movie. The touching notes are still there... The movie really brings out the main point. Through love you help someone to grow up and realise their dreams. Watch it if you still have not watch!

SIM ulu pandan campus open house

Went to the open house on thrus(18/9) with Maraget and Docruas and a bunch of other frens. Some of them were taking part in the sports competition. The size of the campus was normal, not that big. Some of the guys commented that it look like army camp... Not sure about that haha. The facilities are quite awsome, there are gym and dance studio. The hostels also look decent. What we like best is the rooms for the parents. I heard that the rent is around S$1300 per month.
The talent show that was put was also very entertaining. Mediacrop Pornsak was also there as a host, he can speak good english and mandarin. He was quite humorous too.

In the morning, we went to help out in the newspaper collection in Tampiness. The funds raised will be used in future activities to help out even more elderly. It was a tiring job. Had fun and felt happy that I went to help out. These are the things that made me feel that I am alive. I managed to raised some funds that will put in good use.

In the evening, Sann and me went for swimming lessons. Wat taught in the 1st lesson: gobbling in water and floating. I managed the 2 skills okay... I would say money is well spent.

I finished reading the book "Gone With the Wind" sometime ago. I started reading this book last year and stopped for a long while and continued reading. This is a classic that I have heard so much about before reading. Bought this book during a bookstore sales.

This story revolves around the life of Scarlett O'Hara. From a young lady to womanhood, all her great experiences included. Another main character is Rhett Butler, a man that falls in love with her on first sight. This is not your typical romance story, this is more than that. A strong headed woman, who knows what she wants: men dropping at her feet and protecting the home that she grew up in. She does not care how people look or talk about her, she was herself and she was proud of it. She is a modern woman who lives in the 1800s.

This book is a must-read, read it a slow and steady pace and you will digest and adsorb better. Be myself and not care how others look at me!

MoviE: WaLL E

Watched Wall E with a few friends Wt, Hx and Wh. We went Bugis Shaw to watch the Disney movie. A touching animation about 2 robots and the Earth. About 700 hundred years from now, everyone abandoned Earth and lived in a spaceship on outer space. Earth was then filled with rubbish... This is the begining of the story, to know more please catch the movie.

My overall rating of the movie is so-so. Moments between the 2 robots were very touching, I cant imagine if it was 2 humans... Humans may not be as devoted as robots.

Today went to the Jurong Medical for dental. Wanted to get braces.... Finally took the step... Now got money and time. 1st visit to the dentist and I came home with 2 teeth extracted. Actually had no intention of plucking my teeth today... The doctor suggested and I agreed. My heart almost pop out when I was sitting there after they gave me the jab.

Now very painful, next week another 2 is coming out! Arggg!!!

Watch the Mummy Movie on Wednesday, and dinner was KFC. Around midnight threw up the dinner. SHiT must be dinner that is the culprit! Maybe also because my body is giving a warning. Have been having irregular meal times this past month. And then different environment when working.... somewhat affect ba. Now rest and get back my strength!

Last day of work of temp admin assistant... I was working in a accounts dept of a big corporation. Finance and accounts dept have a total of about 2o ladies working together. From wat I observed in the past month or so, there is no office politics. So this particular department in this particular company... you can really work a very long time. Everyone gets along, you finish your work and no one will really come and find fault from you. However there is still the monthly pay up time that every accounts dept have...
Hope my nexT full time job in about 3 years time can be as peaceful as this...

Orientation Day at SIM... Overall rating 65%... Met lots of people.
And I signed up for the Freshmen Camp!!!! When was the last time I went to a camp?! Cant remember....

Few campS that I attended and loved it:

Batam trip for leadership. Nice view and supER funny activities. FooD was great!
Raffles Marina. Nice scenery and lots of yachts. Always Food... at least 5 meal/per day
Sentosa harmonica camp. Bunking together. Nice treasure hunt!
A maths camp. Feels just like home. Had lots of fuNNN! Own time Own target....

HoPe that this camp is more FUN than the above.

Our grp reached her house around 3 pm plus. WE were the first ones there and the last ones to leave her house. We left around 1am plus. That night super not enough sleep lor!

Pei Shan's presents are really of value which includes canon T80 camera (from our grP) and a free trip to Hong Kong.

Her bro WL i think received a high five set from his friends. Super WOW!!

To date I have 2 very memorable Birthdays. Its my sweet 16 and beautiful 21.

On my 16th Birthday (on the exact date) I had an surprise celebration from my click(4E8). From my memory, I was surprised la. You know... Secondary 4 is a year where most students will work very very hard. SO that day was still in the juNe holidays period, we had maths tuition with Mr Goh that day. Some of my frens slipped away from the class to prepare the cake for me in the canteen. So we celebrate my birthday with cake in our school canteen, all of us in our "pretty" school uniform. I also remembered that I even often a slice of cake to Mr Goh. I received an Cyndi album from the guyS and the girls gave a set of handmade accessories that consist of earrings, bracelet and necklace. The accessories all had the same theme of stars.

The 2 presents should be correct if I remembered correctly.... I always thought that birthday was the happiest and most memorable. For the guys I cant really remember who was there... but the gals are of course Ah Hui, Ah Shan and Ah Mei were there.

Dun know who came up with the idea to "change" our contacts FROM Hui Hui, Pei Shan, Shu Mei and Min Zee TO Ah Hui, Ah Shan, Ah Mei and Ah Zee. So on our handphones these few names will appear 1st.... Till this date... none of us change.... (Well I added another one to the AH group.... Ah Zhen.....)

My beautiful 21's celebration on 21/6/08 was a unforgettable one too. Thank you again to those who attended! Ytd (27/6) meet the gals for dinner and then the guys turned up too. We went for a session of late night of singing at party world... Thanks again!

I found out about this site in May, it is an online radio that is on air at night. Most of days it will broadcast mayday's songs. However some of the days the songs that are on air are mixture of chinese, japanese and english songs. The choice of songs are dependent on the DJ... Sometimes you are also allow to choose the songs. The DJ that is now currently on air is a guy with a nice voice, his nickname is T da.

If you are usually free at night why dun go online and listen to some songs that you not have heard b4. haha...

Today suppose to meet meihui they all for the evening. So so long never meet up with them. The meeting place was city hall and I reached there around 7pm. Immediately called them to check where they were.... Meihui said they were at Marina Sq ready to go to kbox for buffet with 4 hrs of singing. She quoted the price of $28+++

Immediately asked whether there were other choices... I am not damn poor just that this current temp job isnt paying as well as my previous job... Now is a time for me to save up more before school starts!!

Today also very fulll.... so buffet is out for me. Sorry guys!!! Meet up next time. Hope ur have FUN!

15th JunE Anlene Orchard mile. This run is only 1.6km/1 mile, a very short run which i finished for 13 minutes. Haha... very slow. Well... I just jogged at a very slow pace. Lots of goodies and activites. We got free yogurt topped with cereal on the spot which was very very GOOD!! Sann, Zhen and me also got our bone scan, lucky for me I am in the healthy range. So I will continue to drink more milk everyday!

Very fun and exciting. WE had seen some of the prize winners, and MY GOD! They dont look their age. Some really look half younger than their age. Maybe... running is the secret to keeping young!

These few weeks are in the midst of organizing the chalet inviting frens and family. It is a great way to have everyone gathered together and chit-chat and updating your life to one another.

My family specially my sis help to make the chalet work.

It is always a difficult thing to get friends to confirm their attendance. Everyone have their own stuffs going on, so maybe difficult to make time. Working life have also make everyone busier, money is time. Work is money, so work is important!

These 2 response are from frens that I consider quite close. And I told them in advance, I told them quite early. Just felt very disappointed.... These are frens that I thought attendance was confirm chop chop.

Went to the enrolment with babywin.... Saw Allan also....turns out he is also taking the same course as me. The study tips given the lecturer was quite useful, hopefully I will try to follow them.

This enrolment talk have made be realize something.... I want to enjoy my time in SIM. A few more years for me to really enjoy myself before working life will start.

This past year of working life have made me realize that work is really just work. You may have good frens and co-workers in your company but.... the feeling is forever different.

So I am going to give my university life a full shot of everything I have got!!

Immediately after reading the article, I went to check out the website http://www.wearewonderwoman.com

The founder of the site is Molly Lee, and she won the Singapore Women Awards in March. After reading her blog entries, then I realize that cancer is something that I cannot imagine. I read about different women battling against the chronic disease. Now I really realize that cancer patients really are a bunch of brave and courageous people. I think I am able to understand better now. Some of the blog entries are really funny, there also some good illustrations. Do check it out.

Ah mei's birthday falls on 28th May, we met at bugis for DinnER. Mei, Zhen, Shan and Me went to Miss Clarity Restaurant. Super lonG time nv meet the girls le. I think about 3 months since our last outinG.

Got the Jump Concert DVD on Sunday. The dvd was GREAT!! Sound quality was wonderful, visual was ever better. Consist of backstage stuffs too. The dvd also featured the 3 female guests in their concerts, namely: Cheer Chen, Fish Leong and Zhang Hui Mei.

There is also a photo book(Maygazine 07) with comments from backstage crew, giving a inside on how MayDay persevere to make music.

I can totally agree with the statement above. I have been to a few concerts and I have to say nothing really beats a 五月天演唱会. Mayday concerts are really for you to 感染气氛，and listen to the music. You would definitely get high even if you are not really a mayday fan. It is a totally different highness that you get in a club or from drinking or any kind of activities. They believe in music, when you listen it will be especially touching.

Today went with zhen and sann to bukit merah to volunteer, help cleaning elderly houses. Lots of volunteers turn up today, so everything finish up very quickly. We also help a auntie to repaint her flat. Five of us did most of the work, repainting her living room.

We started with cleaning flats at around 4pm then proceed on with painting the flat, finish at around 8pm. Tried my first hand at painting flats... It was quite fun! Maybe next time I can repaint my own room!!

Job at the new office really need some getting used too. Super not used to it!! Sitting all day in front of the comp.... When I got home on Friday evening, my eyes were really crying out. Dry, painful and tired. My skin... was very oily too... too cold and dry in the office. From air-conditioner not working environment to a cold cold office, my skin of course not used too. Worse is lunchtime super unbearable, I deal fine eating alone but eating infront of the computer... Definitely weird for me... This an learning experience and it will only last for a while. Come to think of it my 2 previous working place was not too bad, we had more fun together. Haha. Lets see how it goes...

Today started working as a temporary admin assistant... First time working in an office environment realize that the interaction between colleagues are generally lower. Much lower than working in a lab environment where you really move about. Moving about... talking... bonding happens faster.

Dealing with invoices and credit note, somewhat similar with my attachment... My attachment was really useful. (Doris! Not just all about nuts)

Went to watch Boardway Beng 3 last saturday 10th may 08. It was fabulous! Supper funny and entertaining! You need to be a full bloom Singaporean to able to catch the parts. Ok... maybe not. HOwever need to understand english, chinese and hokkien best if you know some malay too.

26th April 08 mayDay down to Earth conCErt!

A few days before the concert, I was really excited about the concert. Excited to see what is installed at this year's concert, knowing it will be totally different. Got to Singapore Indoor quite early, manage to get 2 of the concert t-shirts. Especially like the design of the double headed swan, as the design was originated from their Singapore interview with the media. The other design has words of "MAKE MUSIC NOT WAR". So many countries are currently so messy...

Dinner at Kallang Leisure had kaya toast. There were lots of dogs there during the weekend. Having obedience competition there, lots of dogs, some are cute, big and noisy. It was quite a sight.

The concert started at 8.22pm with the "leave earth concert video clip". During the video clip was shown, out of no where SWAT guys came down with their mask and guns. MY GOD! super exciting. With the music and clip, they were climbing everywhere. Felt that this show was supposed to happen last year, but due to the venue they were can't able to do. THis time around they make sure we got to see the whole thing. SUPERB!

THe opening was monSter and Stone coming down to the stage. That opening was great! Through out the concert, there was constant release of fireworks. Fireworks was another item that was missing in previous concerts. Firework added more excitement and surprise to the concert.

The most exciting part was when the mobile stage started coming down, that was when I totally lost it. When we entered the stadium early, not seeing the stage we thought there was none, like they said they would have it. The stage was granD and fantastic!!! They sang, talked and played their guitar there. The stage came down twice.

This time round the music quality was crystal clear! Sound quality was so much better from the last 2 concerts that they held at Expo. This time round really felt that the price I paid was so worth it!!!

Really had a great time jumping and listening to wu yue tian. At times when I jump I was scared that i would trip or fall... haha lucky didnt. Lost myself at the concert and was just enjoying and having fun. Was really touched by the performance and had a high time. You know before the tickets were out, A and I were discussing "Lets not go to this year's concert... It will be similiar..." Lucky I managed to talk her into going, or else we will regret like hell haha.

Hee Hee that Sunday suddenly wanted to Kbox, so asked Avis to go, she in turn called another fren to join. The fren was also the one going to the MAYDAY concert on 26th April together. SO the 3 of us went to MS Kbox. Ok so we sang a few of Mayday's songs. Karen had quite a nice voice, she say she will practice at the KTV... Professional lor.Haha funny us having pre-session of the concert. Preparation for a concert that only involve us as audience. Excited already!

Histeria (Singapore International Film Festival)
This film was filmed in Malaysia. It is about these 6 students living in a dorm feeling very boring and thought up of a prank. A prank that involves stuffs from the other side. Yes this is a horror film. They pretend to be hysterical and the school call in the witch doctor to cure them. In the end they faced some mysterious happenings. The film quite scary and gruesome. A lesson learnt! Such things are not meant to be played.

This film is about these 2 young boys' lives without a mother figure in their life. Showing how they go through their school life, play times, meal times... Their father was a workaholic who didnt have time for them. A film that was very enjoyable. Also a film from Malaysia.

Old HapPenInGs: last Year's christmas eVE!

Christmas eve was with numerous of people at east coast park. We stayed overnight beside the beach with a tent. Having the tent and listening the light waves crashing was really cool, my 2nd tent at the beach. A total of only 7 people were there... most of them I do not know them. Best parts about this Christmas party were the Jenga game, Christmas cake and gift exchange. One of the most creative gift was a very very cute penguin water dispenser. I got a 08 mickey mouse diary. My gift for exchange was a set of honey. Overall the BBQ will be a memorable onE!

The 1st tent I ever slept in was at Raffles Marina tennis court. It was in the secondary school days where our school organise a camp there.

This overnight BBQ had lots of great food that was not finish as there was not really enough people to finish food. I had to bring some food back and continue the bbQ at SH's house haha.

27 dresses...

Ms tan has recently been very very busy. So she has only was few movies, listing the 2 recent watched movies are: Stardust and 27 dresses.

27 dresses is an very nice show. I especially like the parts where the writer guy was very sure that the lady will call him. Smart guy! Also the part where they lady tried on all 27 dresses for him. The lady at the end tried kissing her boss and found out there was no chemistry between them. FINALLY!! She then realised her true love was the writer guy and went to get him. The movie end with a prefect Cinderella ending with the lady and guy. They had an outdoor wedding with 27 bridesmaids.

12-01-08: volunteerING

Saturday was quite an experience for me. I went to do some volunteering work at Bukit Merah. We were there to tidy and clean up homes of the elderly. Most of them in the blocks live alone in those 1 room flat: meaning one living room, one kitchen and one toilet.

That afternoon we clean up two flats, first one was a grandma's and second one was a grandad's. The grandmother was what my friend (zhen) called living the empress's life, instructing us full instructions of what to do and what not to do. However I beg to differ... she was just meaning naggy. You know how old people are... She was a writer and was in did very pretty in her younger days. She had a picture of herself hanging at the window... very young and pretty.

The grandad was surely very handsome in his younger days. He had two tattoos on his body. He mentioned that he was jailed before. He must have done some terrible things I would say. He now seems in peace with himself and his religion. Saw some prayer stuffs at his house. However he was not feeling well, he told us he went to the Doc's and got medicine. Another volunteer commented that he had slimed down alot. Hope he get well some!! He is a nice chap...

A day that was well spent.

Had a fabulous dinner with my family on Sunday.... Our da ge treated us to dinner. We went for seafood at CCK near the old camp. Menu of dinner: salted egg crab, steamed cod fish, golden mushroom tofu, fried broccoli, mixed veggies soup and grilled chicken wings. Salted egg crab was great, using the yolk of the salted egg to make the sauce. Cod fish was very very fresh.

After dinner, went to IMM for dessert... Hee hee.... Had coffee club. Its always nice to eat out with my family to relax and chitchat together. Very very long time never eat together liao even when at home.

Something I read made me appreciate my family more.

Hee hee last minute got a wonderful chance to attend xiAo zhU Luo zi xiang concert. My sister was actually suppose to go with her fren A ... unfortunately A had an accident and dislocated her knee so couldnt make it. My sister decided to ask her other fren B. She told me about it and I almost kill her! Why she nv call me?! Then i told my sis that I pray that B cannot make it. In the end B really could not make it so I got to go ah zhu's concert haha.

The concert was awesome. The setting and design of the concert was very cool. You know that the price you paid for is worth it. However sound system was not that good. Songs and performance was good... quite high. Really happy I got chance to go... His dance moves is also fantastic!!! He gives out the vibes "I am confidence and good-looking..."

The event was held at the BB civil service club. The food was pretty good... Rush down from work that day... reached at 7.30pm. Food started servicing at 8.30pm. Super hungry lor!! In the end drank alot of gassy orange juice too full to eat the last few dishes of the day.

hee hee write very long still cannot finish.... now a days keep doing OT so no time to update....

Another weird encounter in GZ: As we were walking down the shop houses, we passed by a metal trash bin. There was a mother standing in front of it... whistling. She was carrying her son who look like 4 to 5 years old. Her son peed into the trash bin. After we walked pass the mother and son... my fren and I was like "did u just see that??" It was damn disgusting.

Air in Guang Zhou was very cold, maybe about 15-18oC. I was glad that all through the trip I only wore a thin sweater for extra clothing. Was able to feel the cold air at night. Food there is awfully horrible and inedible. The customer service is also not good quite scary!! Places where I shopped for clothes, usually do not have any fitting room, so buy at own risk. Happy that I went to this trip and feel the different culture and environment. I have come to appreciate Singapore abit more.

So my "story" continues... Still at the 1st day in Guang Zhou.

After lunch, we decided to walk to our next destination with our own tour guide Joanne haha. So with her in the front of our group, packed with her map we walked through some shop houses. After some time, we reached a bakery where there were lots of tempting breads and cakes. Deciding where should be our next route...

"Emm seems like we are lost..." After much time, decided to head back to the hotel to get some rest. Reached the hotel by walking... "Oh its seems like a long journey!" Back to our room, the 3 of us were tired from the plane trip and all the walking. "Drool drool drool... we all took a nap."

By the time I woke up the sky outside was already dark. "Huh we slept for so long? Seems like 8pm already!" I took a look at my watch... it was only 7pm.

Different places have different timing of sun setting and sun rising. Singapore is close to the equator, sun rises late and sun sets late too.

The group of us cab down to "Bejing Street" in 3 taxis. Reached there with hungry stomachs... We chose fast food for our 1st dinner in GZ. Name of fast food chain: Gong Fu. It is a chinese food fast food restaurant. We dont see that in SG... I had chicken with mushroom + stir fried lettuce + white rice + soya bean drink. Complaints: chicken and veggies were all too oily and salty. "Should taken the kids meal... without lettuce but with steamed egg... so much nicer!"

After dinner, we split into groups for shopping. At the end of the night we bought some souvenirs and dried food.

Cab back to the hotel and had a bad experience. I was sitting at the front seat of the cab... Traffic jam everywhere, with the cab driver honking every minute of the ride. Narrow roads with traffic lights that are not at all visible. "Anxious to go some where??? I think so..."

At a random cross junction, we saw a old man sitting there with his bicycle, the car that hit the old man, ambulance and the police car. There were lots and lots of passer-by staring and looking. Lots were above at the bridge. And camera man from the tv station. "Goodness! Its an eye-opener..."

After checking in into the boarding area... with another 1 plus plus hour to go b4 we are able to board the plane. Most of the shops are closed so no shopping can be done. Most of us found ourselves chair to take another short nap. At about 0545 we started queuing to board the plane. We have to walk outdoors to the plane... really very budget!!

Minutes after the boarding the plane looking around.... Before the plane crew could show us how to function the life jacket and how use the oxygen supply.... Me the little princess already fall asleep le. So when the plane took off I did not realize did not feel a thing... When I woke up we are already up and above. However the seat is very small cramp. Sleeping through the 4 hours flight was a pain in the neck. Keeping waking up feeling the neck strained.

Reached Bai Yun airport around 11 am... quite a nice airport all made of glass. Cab down to our hotel. Checking into the rooms was a hassle and took some time as we were not given the correct type of rooms. We booked online for 2 adjoining rooms, and 1 normal room. After much "discussion" nothing was done and we were still given 3 separate rooms side by side...

After dumping all our luggage into one of the rooms, we went for lunch aT some chinese restaurant. We were given a suite room with tv and mahjong table. We order food: fried kang kong, fried kai lan, braised pork with eggplant, char siew, boiled (white) chicken, fried bee hoon and of course white rice. Food was oily and super salty. Jue Hua Cha was nice though using fresh flowers very fragrant.

My 1st overseas trip with frens started on 23-11-07 (friday). That night I worked until 2030... Call cab and rush home in ten minutes. I reached home at 2110, quickly found the backpack from my bro's room. Then I had a quick dinner cooked by my dear mummy. Using just minutes to finish my dinner.... Next I dump everything needed into the red backpack. Below is the list of stuffs:

Meeting point is bukit batok mrt station. Went down to west mall to say good bye to my sister, surprisingly she accompany to me to the mrt station and said our last good bye. So by 2230 I was at BB mrt station and I was the last one there. Heehee... I feel that I done all the above in record time... Haha!

So off we went to take the mrT to Changi airport, our flight is on 24-11-07... 0600.... at the budget terminal. We are spending the nite at the airport. We reached burger king terminal 2 and had our drinks... Next stop is to terminal 1 to walk walk and pass time.

We took the sky train to terminal 1, went to check out the exchange rates for the currencies. My god! it was damn low. After that... went the plane viewing hall to view the different planes.
By 0200 we were back at burger king, from there we have to walk to the bus stop for the budget terminal bus.

We made a quick stop at Mac's to takeaway some food. Reached the budget terminal at 2 plus plus. My goodness! The terminal really budget lor, everything is wat you see, super the small!!!
We sat down at the cafe for a quick bite of porridge and fried rice. After food, we found ourselves some comforty chairs for a quick nap.

At 0400 we started queuing for check in....

Have been super busy these past few weeks...
Weekdays work until 6pm and then 1/2 to 1 hour OT occasionally. Saturdays work OT and for Sundays work for honey boss. So like everyday working...

Then on Tuesday (20/11) change work place again... Back to same old place that I dread so much! Argg!! Yesterday OT until 12.30am so super siAo...

Sudden thoughts:
Me and those others that are in the same boat as I am...
We may have the same fate...
Maybe fate has it, all of us have in a way or two harm cows in our past life...
So in this life we have to have close connections with cows, to pay back...
However in Singapore live cows are really hard to find...
So we have to react with their produce...
Which is MILK!
However in Singapore fresh milk is quite expensive...
So maybe our fate is not as good as others...
So we end up having close relationship with milk powder...

New place... new feelingS...

Chapter 5

It was just another normal day at Ample. It was the last day of the month... That morning was actually quite busy. At around ten plus plus in the morning Mika noticed that her colleague Haven was not at her working area. She went out after a knock on the door from Hana (the supervisor). She was away for quite a long while... While Mika was busy at her area, Haven came in and announce that they were all getting fired. Mika was like "Huh? What did you just say?"

After Haven was bombarded by this sudden announce, next was Avery... She was already up there talking to those people when Mika got to know the news.

Minutes later, Avery came down and told Mika she was up next.

"Am I going to face the boss up there?" Mika asked.

"No. Its Glory and Sammie (head of finance dept)..."

Up there.... Knock on the door.

"Hi... Mika right?.....You have long hair one right?" Sammie's first words.

"Erm... I just cut my hair..." Mika answered.

"Oh cause I remembered most of the girls have long hair."

The rest of the announcement was quite a blur to Mika. By the end, Mika knew that she will be working until that "normal" day.

Chapter 4

The people in the Accommodating department usually keep to themselves. Only when needed that they talk to others. So in plain words, whatever happens around the company, this department would be the last to know. Reason is they do not have any email accounts to keep in update. Another reason, their supervisor Hana usually also keep to herself. So she does not transfer any information to the 3 workers.

On an occasion, Haven was having lunch with others (office staff) in the pantry. They were chatting, and suddenly one question pop out of no where. "Are you guys from Sanders too?"

Sanders is a company working in coordination with Ample.

Haven was quite shock. "Huh, we are with Ample, Ample's employees..."

Others in the same company with Haven, Avery and Mika does not know that they are actually working under the same boss.

It was a laughing stock! Haha!

The 3 lowly paid workers are in the same department, a name suitable for this department would be Accommodating. These 3 workers are Avery, Haven and Mika.

This accommodating department mainly just do what is needed by others. They provide answers in the black and white form. Sometimes when needed real answers are edited and fill in with answers that are not so real. This is done to accommodate others in other departments...
